Overcoming Challenges with Language Learning
After he came to Canada as a refugee, Mustafa was a student at BELC for many months. He suffered a spinal cord injury in Iraq, which put him in a wheelchair and he now undergoes intensive physiotherapy. He used to spend 3-4 hours in physiotherapy in the morning and then attend English class every day in the afternoon.

Visit from the Minister
We were honoured to host the Honourable John Yap, Minister of Multiculturalism for BC and MLA for Richmond, and Richard Lee, MLA for Burnaby, at BELC this past summer.
